it looks like .mkv support is nearing completion I hear!
    if so , then YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Native QT support of MKV would rock!!!

If anyone here has tried it, or is on the beta team, post back
I'd like to hear how it is going....?

It works quite well but there are still some glitches playing mkv files specially if they are h.264 HD with a very high bitrate (and it is not because of lack of power in my computer because the same mkv files play perfectly with VLC)

Just hoping these small problems get worked out soon.

    Thanks Londor for the post.
I keep checking in on the devloper's note page and
that's when I saw it was being added to the latest beta.
Hopefully it will be worked out..
I also see of note they are working on .VOB support,
and that AC3 decoding will be native, without the need of the
seperate QT plug-ins we've had to have also...Wonderful work!!!

  5. I installed Perian 1.0 and promptly 'lost' use of Toast 8. De-installed Perian (actually went back to 0.5) and Toast worked again. I would dearly love to be able to use the most-up-to-date Perian with Toast 8.

    Thanks, Michael

  6. No such problem here with Perian/Toast. Did you uninstall the divx playback component?
