    I used the WinAVIVideoConverter program to change AVI files to DVD I used my Samsung external burner to burn the files to disc when I put them in my Goldstar VM681M DVD player it does not read the disc I have played other burned discs without trouble on my DVD player is there another format I need to put the video files in to play them?

    Try imgburn to burn the dvd files. If that don't work then ditch winavi as your all-in-one converter and use convertxtodvd. Winavi doesn't have a good rep as an all-in-one.

    WINAVI does not create compliant files and hence the results may not play on all players. It is, in fact, a heap of steaming dung.

    What media are you using ? That is the next likely problem.

    I use winavi all the time without problem. Which burning software did you use and which media? Have you tried the internal burner in winavi ? I have used it in winavi8 and the previous version and the dvd's play ok in 2 dvdplayers in our house. I also use Gear Pro which also works.
