    Hi there

    When it comes to video editing I am kind of new. Just recently I downloaded a split dvdrip and came a cross a problem. I was using the latest version of VirtualDub to join the clips and I was unable to join the last video an error had come up "Cannot append segment : the video streams are of different sizes (592x320 vs. 512x384). Is it possible that I could change the video to 592x320 from 512x384 and how

    Thanks in advance.

  2. You can resize the frame but you'll have to reencode the video with the same codec and similar properties.

    In short:

    1) File -> Open Video File
    2) Video -> Filters...
    3) Add -> Resize
    4) Set dimensions to the size you want. Use pulldown to select Lanczos3.
    5) Video -> Compression...
    6) Select desired codec and Configure...
    7) File -> Save as AVI

    Check out the all the guides via the menu item at the left of every page here.

    Of course those changes will also alter the aspect ratio, so you will get distorted images. It looks like your source material has been cropped differently, hence the odd sizings. You might better off simply keeping the original aspect ratio and resolution, and adding black borders to make the sizes match.
