A friend recorded a tape at SLP speed. When I play it on my Sansui VRDVD4005, it plays fine. But when I try to burn it to DVD, the first hour is clean, then the remaining half-hour is bouncy and full of static. I tried cleaning the head, but no improvement. Any suggestions? (I know--he should have recorded it at SP, but the activity is over now, so can't do that.)

Procastination is manifest dilatory folly.

I also have a Sansui 4005, sounds like copy protection. Try using a video stabilizer.

Good idea. But, no, not copy-protected, since he recorded the tape himself. I'm just puzzled as to why it plays fine when not recording to DVD, but plays badly when recording, on the same machine.Originally Posted by MarvingjProcastination is manifest dilatory folly.

As logical thought slowly trickles through my brain: How do I use a video stabilizer with the 4005 when the VHS-to-DVD is internal????
