I recently have had to do a re-install of my OS and I am having trouble getting everything working properly again. I have a home built computer with an ASUS P4B533E MoBo, 512 MB Ram, Windows XP Pro SP2, Premier 6.5. Every time I try to launch Premier it hangs at the Splash screen when the Pinnacle logo shows up. I had this exact configuration working before so I don't know what I am doing wrong now. Any thoughts?

I have the DV500 Plus capture card and was not able to have it operate reliabily under XP SP2. I use XP SP1a with the DV500 Plus and Premiere 6.5.

I wonder if there is a way to get Premier to run independently of the DV500? Then I would still be able to use the TREX and DV Tools.

For anyone who may be having the same type of problem, I found a solution. Simply disable Norton Antivirus Autoprotect and everything is fine. I don't know why it was not a problem before but now it is. I can re-enable NAV after everything is running without any problems.

Yes you can install Premiere 6.5 without the DV500 drivers. Just use the Adobe install CD. You will need separate IEEE-1394 ports. I have Premiere 6.5 running fine under XP SP2 on a recent Core2 machine using motherboard IEEE-1394 ports.

If all you have is the Pinnacle install disk, you need to ask them.

Pinnacle hardware driver support tends end when the product is discontinued. You need to maintain a computer frozen at that point in time.
