I have a TV which switches to Video mode automatically. E.g. when I turn on the DVD player the TV enters video mode if it is enabled on current channel.
When I connect the TV to PC, through S-Video or Composite to SCART cable the TV does not enter the video mode because wires (8 and 18) are not connected.
I sucssefuly tryed to connect wires from remote control battery container to pins 8 and 18.
Remote has two 1.5 V batteries and 3V is enough to switch the TV to video.
TV does not enter the video mode if connect only one 1.5V battery. TV needs a 2 to 9.5 volts to enter widescreen mode and 9.5 to 12 to enter 4:3 mode. My TV enters the same video mode regarless of voltage connected in range 2 to 12V
To solve this I am considering to connect to my Composite+Audio to Scart cable another 2 wires which I could plug into USB port to provide 5V for TV to enter the video mode.
I wonder is there a better alternative.
My TV is old 32" Mezz and I do not have even an original remote for it. It took me quiet a while to discover the way to configure a channel to be able to enter the video mode at least automatically. So there is no way to find "software" solution to enter this mode manually.
