I'm trying to capture some home videos from my old Hi8 camcorder to DVD, the only way I can do this is via the single yellow a/v output on the camcorder to the composite input on the DVD recorder. I have also tried recording onto VHS then to DVD but the end result is always the same, the video has a terrible horizontal wobble. Any suggestions would be gratefully received as I don't have cash to get them converted for me or invest in new hardware just for this task.

Is this true with all tapes of just some?
Try a new tape can see if it does the same thing.
Be sure to fast wind tapes end to end before capture. The tapes could be sticky. -
It was just the one tape, I tried your suggestion and it worked a treat, the wobble is now barely noticeable. Thank you
