so i have a 1.3gb xvid file that i am trying to make into a video dvd. it shouldn't be that hard, right? =)

i have tried iDVD on my mac and Windows DVD Maker on my Vista Ultimate box.

both times, i get the same result: the menus have shrunk vertically and half of the boxes are a solid green. also, when i click to play the main movie, the audio is perfect but there is no video (complete black screen).

i have tried to play the dvd on the mac, a standard dvd player, and my vista box. same result each time.

didn't think it was this hard to turn an xvid file into a video dvd...

    help! =)

For xvid to dvd conversion use convertxtodvd or dvd flick(freeee).

thanks for quick reply! i will check those out.

is there any reason why iDVD and Vista DVD Maker did not work? something i did or is it just xvid and those two progs don't play nice with eachother?

lastly, when converting to video dvd, it converts the video into mpeg2 right? does the size of the original video file matter at all or is it just dependent on the length of the original video?

    thanks!

    dvdflick worked great. =)

still annoying that i can't use Vista DVD Maker so i can have the cool dvd menu/scene selection, etc. is it just an issue with the xvid file or DVD Maker in general?

I doubt the source video would affect the menu creation, but who knows? If DVD Maker is related to Movie Maker, anything is possible!

yea, have no idea what would cause the menus to be green AND not have the video works (audio works fine).
