    Hi all,

Sorry if this has been answered before a quick search did not show me a solution.
I have a single vob file made with ifoedit, however the mpeg file is made up of two Vobid's.
When I load the vob file into Vegas it only shows the first Vobid. Is there a quick way of correcting
the file so Vegas can see it as complete. I could render it of course but is there a quicker way?

    Thanks in advance..

VOB2MPG, then load the mpeg into Vegas ?

Why are you using a VOB in Vegas anyway ? Vegas VOB support is designed basically to support those stupid DVD video cameras, which generally have simple VOB structures. Added to that, Vegas will force you to re-render all your footage.

At this point you have the wrong source and the wrong editor. Have you considered using a dedicated mpeg editor, such as VideoRedo or Womble Mpeg Wizard, which are built from the gorund up to edit VOBS and mpegs without needless re-encoding ?

Thanks for your feedback Gunslinger..I know using a vob is not the correct way of attempting an edit using Vegas, but it served as a suitable carrier for the mpeg file at the time...

Sorry I think my wording is confusing the issue, I am calling the de multiplexed video file from a vob file a mpeg file which of course vegas will not accept directly.
I was using the VOB packing if you like so it would load into Vegas...

Which version of Vegas are you using ? 6 and 7 should accept mpeg files.

Once again GunSlinger, I must thank you for passing on your knowledge. Vob2MPG worked perfectly.
Thanks to the author(s) for "their" hard work with a great application.
I am using Vegas 6. I could never get raw dvd compliant mpeg files to load with Vegas.

However problem solved now. I like to do a back up of the kids dvds for the grand kids.
Edit out the credits etc and role several short movies in increments. Keeps them amused for hours when the weather is not the best.

    Regards...

Invest in an mpeg editor like VideoRedo or Womble Mpeg Wizard. Much faster and simpler.
