    Hello

I've a question abt avi2dvd...how can I keep the "widescreen" aspect of my avi when making a dvd of it?? the 16:9 ratio is not what I'm looking for and the 4:3 stretches the picture quite disturbingly...

I've split this off as a separate thread - Please start a new thread for a new question.
For DVD there is only 2 aspect ratios: 16:9 or 4:3. If your source has any other AR, it has to be padded (or cropped).
How that is done in AVI2DVD is beyond me, as I don't use it. Maybe someone more experienced AVI2DVD user can help?

Should be as simple as setting 16/9 for source and output.
    It does it automatically.

in other words you can't have 2.25:1 or 1.8:1

you can have a picture that shape/AR but it will be inside black bars that keep the whole 720*576 image at 16:1
