  1. Hello,
I'm recently having problems with my WMP seek bar. Basically any MPEG-2 file I play in WMP11, I cannot use the seek bar to jump to various points of the moive. When I move the slider around, it simply snaps back to where it originally was. I know the files are good because WMP used to work fine with them. I don't know what has happened since. It is only MPEG-2 files. No issues with avi, wmv, etc. Also the same MPEG-2 files work fine with other players where I can use the seek/slider bar fine on them. Just a problem with WMP11.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Maybe try another mpeg2 decoder. What do you have now? You can check what you use with Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=de1491ac-0ab6-4990-943d-627e6...displaylang=en

You can use WinDVD, PowerDVD, ffdshow, etc for mpeg2 decoding in wmp.

  3. I used Nero. I reinstalled WinDVD and PowerDVD and tried the codecs that come with them but still no luck...
