    Hi,

I have read what alot of you think of dvdsanta, but I am going to ask the question anyway.

I have used dvdsanta very successfully in the past but began to have some problems and I inadvertingly deleted it. I actually repurchased it because it had been so easy. All I really want to do is convert AVI movies on the hard drive to dvd and burn. I had trouble with just converting it and my event log showed it was a problem with XviD codec so I got rid of it. Problem solved. Now I have a problem with burning the converted file. The whole program freezes after I click burn. I am unable to close the program even with task manager. I have to restart. When I check the event log it says that it is an "application hang" and gives a number of the fault bucket whatever that means. I will probably get some new programs but this is really bugging me and I hate to give up. I have tried several things with no luck.

Can anyone help with this specific problem and program?

    Thanks for your help.

You could send an email to dvdsanta with the error...maybe they will know.

Otherwise, try different software. For the one click crowd, try Convertx2dvd.

Like the krispy kriter said try Convertx2dvd and your problems will be solved. This is the most reliable program for what you want to do. Dvdsanta is a piece of crap in my opinion. Very buggy. You might as well eat your losses and spring for convertX2dvd. It will save you a lot of grief.

When you click 'burn' is it actually sending the file to the DVD burner or just starting a encode? If it's a finished file, can you direct it to your hard drive instead and use a different burning program?

It's hard to tell with some programs if it's a issue with the encode or the burner. IOW, it's not communicating with the burner properly? If the program generates a log, the answer may show there.

    And welcome to our forums.

I would simply load the avi into SUPER, author with GUI for DVD author, then burn with ImgBurn, all freeware and works like clockwork
