I have some DVD+RWs that someone gave me. I planned on using them for some testing.
But here's my problem; when I try to erase them with TOAST, it recognizes it as a DVD+R
    and therefore cannot erase it
BTW; they're Samsung Pleomax. And I've had problems with CD-Rs of the same brand before.

First of all, be sure your computer will burn those. Look in the System Profiler:

DVD-Write: -R, -RW (as you can see, mine doesn't support + media)

Second, if + media is supported, try opening Disk Utility, selecting your DVD+RW, clicking the Erase tab, and then clicking the Quick Erase button.

I have burned these with TOAST? I tried with disk utility. Same problem. I get a DVD+R icon on my desktop so my drive thinks its a DVD+R when its a DVD+RW. But when I look in the recorder settings window in TOAST it says "DVD+RW: supported". I guess I'll have to buy some minus re-writes. Good thing I got them for free. It won't have cost me anything to find out my burner doesn't support them.
