am i incorrect but i think i remember seeing a how-to a while back on how Dvd Decrypter or PGCedit that you can create your own .psl file to use with Dvd Decrypter?

if this is so then i think this would or could be quite handy in being able to read the newer copy protections since Ripit4Me has gone the way of Dvd Decrypter etc

You can still find download links for PSL2 plugin if you Google
for it (you'll need to go down about 5 or 6 pages)

The plugin has not been updated for a long time and hopefully it never will. I would hate to see something happen to this wonderful program.

What was the final released version for that ? (Just want to make sure I had the last one.)

  5. The PSL2 plugin/PgcEdit method never failed me until I tried it on "Casino Royale". The movie has 99 titlesets and DVDDecrypter errored out while trying to parse the disc. I suspect it would also fail on other recent Sony-Columbia releases, you know, the ones reported to be unplayable on some standalone players.

Anyway, RipIt4Me and DVDFabDecrypter work on Casino Royale, and AnyDVD as well, reportedly.

On another thread I mentioned that for fun I found a workaround. I.E. open the disc in DVDShrink 2.3 (old version), select VTS_01_0.IFO (main movie), okay the error, reauthor, use start/end frames to trim the unreferenced junk at the beginning and end of the titleset. Backup. Then create a new VIDEO_TS.IFO in DVDFab 0.17.1 (old free version).

ABond came back with another one: Open in IFO mode in DVDDecrypter, deselect the first and last cells of the main movie titleset and rip. Haven't tried that method yet myself, but it's ingenious.

thanks guys....when was this plugin last updated? is it completely finished?(i.e....not gonna updated anymore)...

it looks like the last version was either 2.19 or 2.21

i wouldn't worry too much about PGCedit going away...it doesn't crack the protection alone....need the plug..they'll be fine

update: just read it's on hiatus..not been updated for a while now...may come back and start again who knows

I went down to like page 15 of hits on Google and still couldn't find 2.21, the final version. However, I wasn't prepared to register at Digital Digest in order to get it (if they even still offer it), and I did not go digging in any of the foreign language hits that came up. It is probably available on Rapidshare and places like that, but I don't think there's a search engine for that so one would need to know the correct url going in.

    It was removed.
If you want something that can do any movie at this moment then try DVDFab HD Decrypter 3.1.0.0 Beta.

I've been keeping track of those also . . . tho' I don't bother with interim Beta versions.

Re the PSL2 plugin, we're talkin' about a script, fer Chrissakes ! They can threaten, bully, intimidate, but they can't stop this thing from floating all over cyberspace. I'm sure it's available somewhere. And I suspect someone will be able to pick up where the "Mad Monk" left off, when the need arises.

Was the plugin routinely packaged with the PgcEdit installer version ? Or did it have to be sought out somewhere separately ?

Man, they really went to a great deal of trouble to squelch it this thoroughly ! David Copperfield couldn't have made something disappear any better . . . .

Seeker47: I went down to like page 15 of hits on Google and still couldn't find 2.21, the final version.
You missed it - about six pages down - it's bundled with pgcedit.

Thanks . . . although this package has version 2.11 of the plugin, whereas the final version that was of interest happened to be 2.21. (Already had 2.19.) Others have said to just forget about this plugin, because it is out of date, and to move on to FabDecrypter. As it turns out, though, I have not yet run into any case where RI4M (with the plugin) failed to do the job. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I won't soil my hands with Sony product in the first place. I am continually amazed at the posts in these forums about "I couldn't back up ___", when those blanks are usually filled in with the most atrocious garbage ! And I'm thinking, 'Dude, why would you ever even want to ?'
