  1. I want to use a frame from a video clip and make it a DVD menu background picture, using Photoshop. Therefore I need to take a high resolution snapshot from the video (bpm or jpg). VLC's snapshot resolution isn't that great, same with Sony Vegas, the images captured are a bit noisy and I'm not an expert on how to remove the noise in photoshop. Does anyone knnow what the best way is to get a high-res snapshot?

Here's a tip for Vegas to Photoshop.

Use the Vegas copy button don't save the file.
Then open a new 720x480 canvas in Photoshop and use paste to load the frame.
Then use the Photoshop Video Deinterlace filter (see wheel below).

High Def works great as well. Make sure you select "Best (Full)" in Vegas Preview window then hit copy button. Open a 1920x1080 Photoshop canvas and paste.
