Is there a commercial software that's capable of converting MKV files and/or DivX HD into a format AVCHD? Basically, standard H.264 / MP4 conversions only support AAC audio, which is two channel. As for me, I don't believe in watching HD movies with head phones, so I'm looking forward to AVCHD (supports AC3).

I've searched the internet through n through, and there is no open source programs that do this, so I'm looking for a commercial based software. Premiere Pro CS3 isn't out til July, Final Cut Pro 6 isn't confirming it, Nero 7 Enhanced is sketchy. Anyone have some idea?

The main problem with what your asking is MKV.
Full support in the Mac community for MKV is spotty at best,
with most tools simply doing conversions/ extractions
    to XVID/DIVX.

Possibly the route you should look into is just DIVX HD
to AVCHD? Have you posed your Query at the forums
    over at DIVX.com?
    Does the DIVX Pro software
    have this ability?
