I have a video ts folder that I need to be able to edit and burn to a DVD (school video). I've been messing around with it for 2 hours and I've made negative progress, the sound no longer plays with the movie. It did the first time I opened it windows media player, and now does not. Please help!

    I didn't get it.
You want to edit the VIDEO_TS and firstly you played it with WMP. It worked.
Then you wanted to play it second time with WMP (obviously you didn't believe your own ears that it can play it ) and it didn't work. And so - 2 hrs . Where is then the editing part?
Or you tried to edit with WMP?
Anyway the WMP is bad DVD player - don't trust it!

Burn it with Imgburn in build mode and see if it works with your dvd player.

What video editor are you using and what method, if any, did you use to extract the MPEG files from the VOBs?

I usually use VOB2MPEG to extract to one MPEG file. Then I am able to edit it with most any MPEG editor. Depending on the audio format and video editor, you may need to convert the audio to WAV, then add it back in.

    And welcome to our forums.
