Hi, it's been a long time since I've visited this place, forgot how helpful it is.

I'm trying to convert an XviD .avi file, 23.976FPS to a PAL DVD. I had some trouble at first, but managed to figure it out and do most of it. I've split the audio and video, and converted the video to 25FPS and it works well and everything. I'm having trouble converting the AC3 part of it to PAL.

What I did was imported it into BeSweet, and selected the NTSC > PAL option to convert it from 23976 to 25000. The program goes through the process without a hitch, but when I play the newly created file, it peaks in the louder parts of it. I've tried to convert it at least 10 times, all with different settings but none of them seem to work. 3 of them were just complete silence.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Is it a 5.1 AC3 track or 2.0 ?

Here's an easy way to do 2.0:

    Download the following

    23_to_25.rar

To know what to do with your audio you have to consider the type of framerate conversion (with or without changing video length) you've used. E.g. encoding to progressive with subsequent 23.976=>25 in DGPulldown doesn't change video length and doesn't need spoiling the audio by making it 4% faster to keep in synch.

I do agree with Alex_ander, as long as converted video is the same length as before, and it should be, than there is no need for conversion of audio. I have done this many times the other way from PAL to NTSC.

Thanks for your input guys. For this particular conversion Soopafresh's method worked fine, quality wasn't a concern

    Thanks

    @ soopafresh

would the above zip file work for 29.97 ac3 to 25?

    also, any chance of getting a zip with 29.97 ac3 5.1 to 25 mp3/ac3?

    cheers!
