Problem with conversion of AVI TO MPEG

Hey u guys
I'm new here
I'm trying to convert avi files to mpeg(vcd) files using tmpgenc. bedofre tmpgenc didn't support the avi files.(they aren't divx). My quest became hopeless. then this morning, it tried it one more time, and tmpgenc supported the files. but when i converted it, there was no preview(it was black) and the output was just a black screen. please somebody get me out of this misey. thanks in advance

Install the Nimo Codec Pack, it solved all my problems with TMPGEnc.

Thankyou for that I was having trouble too, now my TMPGEnc 2.02 opens DivX..

** BUT, I am still not getting any audio output in my resulting MPEG... any ideas???

Just had a thought... and it seems to have worked nicely.

I used VitualDUB 1.4d to strip a WAV file out of the AVI then used that as the Audio input in TMPGEnc.

Hope this helps anyone else who may have been having this problem (or was it just me, hehe
