  1. I've tried two different ways extracting the Audio in Virtual Dub from the Divx:

    1) I change the VDub settings Audio > AVI Audio, Direct Stream Copy, then Save Wav. This saves a mp3 file which I use WinAmp (with the Disk_Out plugin) to extract a Wav. Then I use TMPG with toolame for final mp2 encoding.

    2) I change the VDub settings Audio > AVI Audio, Full Processing Mode then Save Wav. I then put this Wav file in to TMPG with toolame for the final mp2 encoding.

I've tried both these ways to extract the audio from the divx and they both playback fine (sound only, not multiplexed). I have tried to multiplex the Audio with Video through bbMPEG and TMPG, in both the sound is out of sync. It appears the audio gets more and more ahead of the video, could it have anything to do with the source was 25fps and I used pulldown.exe for 29fps. Also the end of the movie get's cut off from CCE's encoding, which it usually does, but that's another problem. So what do I have to do to get the audio back on cue?

    p.s.
    i'm using 44khz with 160kb/s audio.

    Please respond! thanks

I think that pulldown.exe has everything to do with it, you use the pulldown if the framerate is 23,97 (I think =) but not 25 fps...

  3. But I had this same problem when the source was 23fps.
I'll try reenoding the movie anyway and giving it a shot, but I must be doing something wrong along the way, besides pulldown.exe for this thing not to work.

Well, I'm not sure what pulldown.exe does actually, as far as I can remember it doesn't change the fps to 29,97 it just simply adds flaggs telling your dvdplayer that the player itself should add the extra frames (or something) I'm sorry that I can't help you here...

  5. Can someone please tell me why the Audio won't match up to the video. Does the audio go to fast?

I've seen on this site somewhere, what to do if the audio is faster than the video. I'm not talking about just a couple seconds lag time, but worse sync at the end of the movie than the begining.

Please Help, has anyone else seen that on this site?

Yes, I assume that the audio goes to fast, since you're input is 25 fps and the program "fakes" 23,97 and then adds the flags and that means a loss of 1,03 fps...
Since the program probably doesn't do a correct 25->23,97 framerate alteration (as no proggy does =)
In your case you'll need to edit the audio to match in a program like Cool Edit or soundforge...

  8. I've tried to figure out Soundforge (5) with no luck. The sound couldn't be much faster than a hundredth of a second, how do i adjust the audio to perfectly fit the video?
If you don't know how to do it with soundforge then how about Cool Edit Pro 1.2a?
    Thanx
