    Hi ..
I wanted to do something important , and I knew that you would help me

I'm trying to make a data dvd - pictures and videos - that the videos within works on the dvd player ..

I want to do this for two reasons ,,
1- because I want to add a pictures to the dvd ..
2- I want to add more than 25 videos .. that all togother long is more than 5 hours , but their size is only 3 Gb . So it wouldn't fit to a video dvd - wich can take only 2 hours - .
3- because I want to make it fastly , without any complicated thing .

So ,, you see , I have to make a data dvd , that videos works on dvd player .
Of course I dont want a menu or subtitle or anything .

You see , when I make a basic data dvd , its' videos doesn't work on the dvd player , but its' pictures and sounds do . So I need some kind of videos ( .*** ) that works on dvd , Or if you have a better way .

    I hope you help me

Thanks alot , and goodbye .

What a DVD player can do, besides playing a Video DVD, is entirely dependent on the individual player model. So... you see, you have to find out what kind (if any) of video your player can handle, besides std Video DVD content, and then encode your video to that specification.

    Hi ..
I couldn't find anything useful written on the menu of the dvd ..
So , is there any type of videos that can be played on all dvds ?

on the menu ,, its written that the dvd can open all types of pictures , and most of audio , but - as I said - there was nothing about videos .

    thanks alot .. goodbye ..

    Hi again ..
No matter , if there is any way that makes me able to make a video dvd , that can handle more than 5 hours - I mean it depends to the size not the duration - , then great .

    thanks alot ..

The only type of video that can be played on all DVD players, is video conforming to the Video DVD specifications - see top left, WHAT IS - DVD.
Video bitrate determines how much (in time) a DVD can hold. At VCD quality and bitrate (which is DVD compliant), you can fit 6-7 hours worth of video onto a DVD-5

All DVD players conform to https://www.videohelp.com/dvd
This will always include authoring a multiplexed VOB + IFO and BUP files in a Video_TS folder.

Individual players may do other things as specified in their manual. This may include direct display of JPG stills, or playing certain audio or video files from a root directory on a data DVD.

Most mpg encoders (like TMPGEnc) have a VCD preset. Use this when you encode your videos for your DVD. If possible, change audio sampling frequency to 48 kHz, as this is what DVD audio should be, even if some DVD authoring apps (like TDA) will upsample VCD 44.1 kHz audio to 48 kHz for you.

You will still have to author it into a VIDEO_TS folder (VOB, IFO, BUP) to play as a DVD and have DVD Menus.

Yes, of course authoring is required - I suggest TMPGEnc DVD Author to that end - has a 30 day trial.
