    1. RMVB is a horrible format to convert. Few programs convert it nicely, and most take a long time for some files. EO Video Converter seems to be the best for this video format

    2. CUCUSoft seems to be at the lower end of quality software, so crashes and odd behaviour should be expected

    3. Use MediaInfo or G-Spot to determine what codecs a file needs (note : may not work with RMVB files) ad then install just the missing codecs.

Honestly, the root of all your problems appears to be CUCUSoft. I would ditch it and try something else. For most files, ConvertXtoDVD will do a better job. RMVB might be the exception.

Cucusoft is garbage , well , its the scum at the bottom of the bin floating about in you dont want to know .

How about something like this , from a quick search , and free .

Just be aware of those fps parts , someone should beable to clear those portions up a little , but its not difficult .

Personally its a good method , but then I can also send it to the dvd recorder from the pc , while I watch it on the set with almost no loss in quality , and less hassle's .
