    Ok, I am trying to make a dvd from a mkv file what i do is extract the files with mkvextract , then convert them to dvd compliant files with tmpgenc 4.0 express and compile the dvd with dvd lab pro but when i try to watch the dvd the audio and subtitles are out of synch with the video, how can i fix this problem?

    can't help with the sub-titles

    but with sound

    load the extracted avi and the extracted audio into avidemux
    and play it, avidemux has the abilty to offset the sound from the video +- milliseconds, just adjust the numbers until the sound and video are in sync, then save the file, use the stream copy function so there is no encoding,

    now demux the new file, and you are ready to start converting /authoring
