Greetings - Our church has a Videonics MXPro A/V mixer unit. We are sending 2 video inputs into this mixer...

Video Input 1 is from the PC (running MediaShout).
Video Input 2 is from the DVD player.

We want to use the DVD player to play a motion background continuously. Then we want to use the PC (again running MediaShout) to display the sermon notes page by page. So the desired effect is to use the MXPro to blend/mix the DVD and PC video input signals so that the motion background is overlayed with the sermon notes text. We are doing this by using the mixer control arm set half way between each input (1 and 2)

The problem is that when the control arm is set half way to mix both inputs the brightness of each input is reduced, more than 50%, so that both the background and the text are way too dark to be readable. I would think that each input should/would remain at full brightness but I can't seem to get this to work this way.

Is there a better way to mix the video inputs and have them both display at full brightness, or is there a brightness/opacity/transparency adjustment that I am maybe missing?

Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated :)

Thanks, Mark
