Hi, my Media Player Classic refuses to play sound on wmv files. It gives me a "Media Player Classic could not render some of the pins in the graph, blah, blah, blah..." sort of message (if you want the whole message, let me know). Anyway, from what I gather, it needs an audio codec. I have had no luck with trying to find the correct codec. (I don't even really know what a codec is!) My MPC didn't used to have this problem, but it does now after my comp crashed and I had to reinstall EVERYTHING. Apparently whatever I had last time that made it work is not on my comp anymore. I had one or two codec packs back then, but I don't remember what they were. I also had WMP9 instead of 11. Other than that, my comp is back to the state it was in before it crashed. Is there any quick fix for my MPC issue? A simple codec pack or single codec I can dowload? A setting that needs tweaking? Anything?

I am on a WinXP. Be warned, I am a complete nube when it comes to video stuff.

Oh, and right now, I don't have ANY codecs installed. Are there any that I should really, really get, or should I just leave well enough alone?

I figured out the problem!! Since my comp crashed and had to be wiped clean, I lost all installed drivers. I was missing an audio driver, and MPC was compaining about it. Even though the speakers were plugged in, as far as the computer was concerned, it had no speakers.
