I'm using a litebox media hard drive, to store my movies and audio which I download off my pc. I can than play these through my TV and sound system. Problem is the litebox which supports mpeg-1,-2,-4, divx and xvid will not always recognise my files even though the same files can be played in Win Media Player 11.0 on my pc. I've tried a number of converters including 4U AVI MPEG converter but problem persists. Any ideas?

    download gspot

and ckeck the info on those that play and those that don't

compare the info for the differences, could be the codec , the bit rate, or the frame rate

or the file might be mislabled

i have seen mkv files with avi ext, this can cause your problem

the same for a real media file ext rm or rmvb with the wrong ext the player on the PC might play them but your liteon will not

Tanx for getting back. I've alresdy tried Gspot. When I run it on these files the default setting " enable interaction with codecs "becomes unticked and rendering is then disabled.
So I can't get any info on missing codecs, etc. Failing this would capturing by steaming on PC be a solution and if so, can you recommend program.
