I use KMPlayer on my laptop which is plugged with s-video to my TV.
The laptop's screen res is 1024X768, the TV's res is 800X600. When I play a video file
I have to adjust the windows screen res in my laptop to 800X600.
Is there any way to set full screen mode to 800X600 with KMPlayer or any other player?

    thanks.

Depends on the video chip and drivers. With my Radeon Mobility 9600 I can set the TV out as a second screen and the laptop screen stays at 1280 X 800. Then I just open my player app on that screen and run it full-screen.

  4. First, look to see if there is a "theater mode" option on your laptop. That is the best solution. ATI calls it that. I don't know what nVidia and Intel call it. This will cause whatever is playing in a media player to appear full screen on the TV even if the player is windowed on the desktop.

If you don't have that option you can force KMPlayer to use DirectX to open an 800x600 screen while playing. Right click on KMPlayer, select Options -> Preferences. In the left hand panel of the dialog that pops open select General -> Screen. In the right hand panel select the Advanced tab. In the middle of the dialog there is an option called "change resolution at full screen mode automatically". Set that to the video resolution you want. You may find that 640x480x32 works best (fot TV output) but try others too. The mode switch only happens when you set the player to full screen. There's an option to startup at fullscreen (it that's what you want) somewhere too.

Not that I know of. But I haven't looked all that hard for the options in those players.

What you really want is to get Theater Mode working. nVidia calls it Video Mirroring. I don't know if Intel's graphics chips support this.
