Hello everyone. After experimenting a lot with complete packages like Ulead, Pinnacle, Nero, Adobe premium, Roxio MyDVD, etc I decided to separate the tasks in video production and use the best and easiest package for every task. DVIO is quite good in capturing, Vdub is very useful for cut and paste work on AVI files and TMPGenc is best to encode AVI to MPEG2. I am continuously searching for the best package to add explanatory subtitles, narration and background music by suppressing audio on AVI file so that it is for the encoding phase. Please advise. Thanks.

Have a look in the Subtitles are of the Tools section for various options for creating and editing subtitles. I like subtitle workshop myself.
Narration and background audio can be done in Premiere or Vegas very easily. I use Vegas, and find it's audio capabilities are perfect for any occasion.Read my blog here.
