ok why when i rip a dvd if there is 24 chapters i do 12 at a time (small hard drive) the 2nd half is allways bigger in size at the end using smart ripper...dvd2avi...TMPGEnc someone please help a guy out......

Chapters are exactly that on a DVD -- where the producer of the disc thought would be a good place for a chapter (e.g., book chapters). Obviously not all chapters are the same length (e.g., not all book chapters are exactly 15 pages long are they?).
Perhaps on the DVDs you have done, the last 12 chapters are simply longer than the first 12.
