I'm having a similar problem. I have the latest QT 7.1.5 and when I convert I get the white screen and audio. Anyone know what is causing this?

turn off in MC qt plug in and use directshow instead -- it is in the settings options for filters ...

most likely you will have to convert them from QT to a different avi format like DV or huffyuv or the like (a truly editable format that is)

Well I tried it and it still doesnt work. No idea what to do. I shot this stuff on a P2 cam at 720p then rip it off the cam into Final Cut Pro as quicktime. I have done this before but not at this resolution, usually all you have to do is add the .mov extension to the file and it imports fine.

you should (have) start(ed) a new thread - because not only is your problem with different software/encoder - but it turns out you just happen to mention a completely different OS

i'll split your question to another thread in the mac forum

No I am sure,... Im using both

I captured the files on P2, exported to Mac (as PC premiere pro does not support P2) then copied exported files to DVD, tried to open on PC...they appear white, with audio

Read this posting over at Creative Cow.
It points to using the CineForm codec
as a means to get P2 video into Premiere Pro.
