on the WMP and powerdvd issue, did you update powerdvd to the XP compatible version? You have to do this for it to work properly and intergrate appropriately.

ON the keyboard issue, did you select the correct type of keyboard for your system when you reinstalled. It sounds like somehow either you or xp chose the wrong keyboard driver.

go under control panel, then choose, performance and maintenance, then see basic information about your computer, on the next screen choose the hardware tab, then click the device manager button, expand the keyboard tree and see what keyboard is listed and if it matches your keyboard. If not the best thing I could say is to right click the keyboard and tell it to unistall it. Reboot and it should choose the correct keyboard. Should is the operative word, but then go through the top process again to verify.

I didn't even consider to ask what version of powerdvd you are running, but if its powerdvd 3.0 you'll need the patch, down close to the bottom of this page, under free patch files

also with the keyboard you are more then likely having one of two problems. Either 1. your multimedia keyboard doesn't have its software installed and thereby causing problems. 2. it has the software installed yet the software is not compatible with XP and therefore will require an update which you can go to the hp site and find.

As far as finding out if the software is installed go under control panel and find the add/remove programs the software should be listed under there if its installed. It should have some reference to keyboard in the name
