    Hi,

I'm sort of new to this. I'm currently on a Mac OS X 10.4.9 and running VisualHub 1.23. Most of the time the conversion from .avi files to a DVD is without problems (leaving at default settings and I don't mess with advanced menu.) However there are a couple of avi files that play fine in VLC, but when I convert and burn to a DVD, all I get is a green screen with the audio.

Is there something that I need to check in VisualHub's advanced menu first before I convert and burn? What do I need to look for?

    Thanks

    D.

In VLC, while the AVI is playing,
    go to Window-->Information ( apple-i)
and toggle the arrows next to Stream1 and Stream2
(or Stream 0 and Stream1), and post back that info.

That info is you Codec info, necessary to enable the
file to be transcoded into another format.
Could be the codec is not native to VidualHub,
and you may have to go into the Advanced menu
and select ffmpegx or VLC decoding.

Thanks for the reply. I did what you had suggested and came up with the following info:

    Stream 0
    Codec: DIV3

    Stream 1
    Codec: MPGA

Is there a "Codec Pack" (for lack of a better term) or a program that contains a bunch of codecs that will run on a Mac and that VisualHub have access to when trying to convert and burn to DVD?

Not that Visual Hub will have access to, as Visual Hub is
non-dependent on Quicktime by default, unless you specify
    it in the Advanced options.

Divx 3 for the video, Mpeg Audio for the sound.
What I would try first is dig in the crates and
pull out an old school tool, Divx Doctor II.
I would try that to force the file to a more
Quicktime friendly one ( as it will affect the creator code,
or CC, not the actual quality).

Once that spits it out, then I would try it again in
Visual Hub with the "use Quicktime to decode"
    advanced option checked
(make sure you have EITHER Perian 0.5 or the DIVX componet
from Toast Titaninum 7 installed) and let Visual Hub process it again.

Or, if you have Toast Titanium 7, at that point of it having been
doctored, just use that to build your DVD.
