First, is it possible to backup a Blu-ray dvd or PS3 game yet? Second, I was thinking about upgrading the hard drive in my PS 3 to more gigs. The PS3 instruction book says most 2 1/2 inch (laptop) hard drives will work but does not say which ones will not work. Has any one have any success with an upgrade?

PS---My regular DVD backups play on the PS3 Blu-ray just fine and a Blu-Ray movie 1080P is awesome!

With regards to backing up BluRay DVDs, that depends on what you mean by the word "backup". They can ripped to a hard drive, yes. I'm not aware of anyone having any success reburning them to any format, but you could always go to the Decyrption forum at

and wade through a lot of stuff to see if maybe somebody has done it. There are no automated rebuilding or reburning tools for BluRay at this time and if anyone has succeeded at burning rips to some kind of disc, it's probably a very intensive manual process.

I have no idea at all if PS3 games can be backed up or what the answer to your hard drive upgrade question is.

  3. I DON'T know if this is legit, perhaps others might know because the topic will be a serious issue for those that know a disk gets mutilated in no time flat.

So, perhaps somebody has seen this in action. I presume all these require a Blu Ray burner though?
