  3. at the moment, I'm just using DVD shrink to rip the DVD.

Basically, what I would like to do is have a 1 or 2 minute slide show between each music clip, sort of like a commercial of our business.

I'm open to any authoring tool that you recommend.

Create the clips in any video software, encode to compliant mpeg2 video (see What is DVD, top left corner, for compliance).

From there you have a choice. Either author a totally new disc from scratch using your new video(s) and bits from the others, or author just your new video(s) to your HDD, then use DVD Shrink in re-author mode to put them where you want them.

Windows Movie Maker, then save as DV-avi is probably the quickest way.

If you want a good free tool, here's Slide Show Movie Maker:

Selectable transitions, music themes etc. Saves as avi with a selected codec on your system, then you can encode it to MPEG2 and author the usual way.

  9. Another way:

Once you have your various slideshow clips authored for DVD (I'd use AviSynth's ImageSource command to help turn them into DVD), open the original music DVD in PGCEdit, highlight each music video in turn (assuming they each have their own PGC/Title as is usually the case with music video DVDs), go Title->Import Title's Intro (or Closing) Clip, and follow the easy instructions from there. That'll save taking apart the original DVD and reauthoring the entire thing, and allow you to keep any original menus.
