Hi,
I have downloaded a few rmvb files via torrents but they were not complete (it got up to about 99.7%)
I tried to use WinAVI and tmpeg to convert them to avi or mpg but they always seem to stop before completing 100%
My guess is, its stopping because of a missing piece of data (since not all files are completed 100%)
I have tried numerous video fixers and that didnt work as well....
Has anyone successfully converted an incomplete rmvb file? and if they did can you please point me in the direction?
I was also wondering if anyone knows of a program that can rebuild an rmvb file? I would like to take the incompleted rmvb and hopefully rebuild it so WinAVI sees it as a whole and complete file.
Thank you!
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Unfortunately there are no more seeders and the torrent is quite old and unpopular...
i wanted to cut that 0.5% thats missing (its probably about a few seconds) and join it back together to make it a whole file again but i dont know where the break is.....so i thought maybe there was a program to rebuild the file but ignore the missing space... -
The problem with torrents is that it is an all or nothing thing. If you don't get the entire file, there's no way to do anything sensible with it. I suppose if you have something that is capable of editing Real Media Video (and I have no idea at all as to what can edit that format), you might be able to put what you've got into it and remove the missing areas, but I wouldn't count on it working. Usually what happens is that once you have an area in a torrent that is missing, the rest of the file from that point on is useless. Remember that your missing chunk can be anywhere in the file, so if it happens halfway through, you might not be able to see anything after that point.

If you can play the file with KMPlayer - you can convert it. -
What jman98 said, and if you are missing like 1% or less, don't assume that missing part is in one place, or at the end of the video. Torrents don't work like that. It could be many very small bits missing throughout the video. And having a RMVB file complicates it as the bitrates are changing at different parts of the file which makes them hard enough to convert as is.
If you can play it back, there's a slight chance you can extract something out of it, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
