Please, i have been trying to find a good program to make DVD conversions of my music clips. I dont want to do it all one by one demuxing, changing frame rates, re-muxing, recoding etc...
I d like to use one of the programs that do it all for me ( like Nero ou DVDit Pro , etc...)
    So my difficulties are :
I have Nero 7,5 and the quality is OK but my Sony FX900 cant play the DVD (it says region compatibility - can i solve it somewhere ? I have tryied to burn , read it with dvdshrink leaving region free and back again to DVD but no success)
I have DVDit PRO HD-I works fine in my DVD player but the quality of the video is not really good ( and i leave it at best quality VBR )
I am using as source a lot of videos in SVCD, VOB, HD DIVX (quality is always SVCDor better - PALM or NTSC)
    Please , help me.
Is there a way to work around the Nero program or Is there any other good programs that could do it all ?
    Thanks

I would try latest tmpgenc dvd author 3. Or if you don't need nice looking menus use ConvertXtoDVD.

Your Sony problem is not region related, but format related (Sony use the terms interchangeably in their error messages), so make sure you convert PAL to NTSC or NTSC to PAL - whichever you need.

I would second ConvertXtoDVD as the most reliable for a wide range of sources, perhaps then using Tmpgenc DVD Author to create new menus if they are important to you.

thank you guys. Will try it right now.
The Sony thing is that im still in doubt since it should be able to play NTSC and PAL right ? When i author a DVD it puts all videos in one format and as much as i remember i have already tryied PAL and NTSC.

I think what gunslinger is saying is it won't do it with a mixed disc and Nero is not converting the files which actually has me confused because I thought it always did that even when it didn't have too.

Not sure how well it works for the pal to NTSC to PAL conversion or vice versa but for mixed bitrates resolutons or even aspects DVD workshop is probably the easiest. Drag and drop to the storyboard, select do not convert compliant files and it won't convert anything except the files that do not fit within the DVD spec.

Cheaper solution you can try is Ulead Movie Factory but I'm pretty sure that will reencode anything that doesn't match the your output settings.
