Civilization & DX9

Hi guys- given this new game...

Civilization IV has this interesting lil comment in its install directions- that even if DX9 is already installed to do it again or CivIV might not see it.

This brought up a vague memory that I'd had some DirectX problems before, that had spilled over from a game install to my video softwares.

I only have one machine fast enough to suit this game, and its my editing computer, so I thought I'd ask 'cause as I remember, RESTORE doesn't work right on DX stuff.

is nothing easy?

I would only reinstall DX9 if the game doesn't work. With that said, it shouldn't hurt anything to reinstall DX9. I've reinstalled it in past as a troubleshooting procedure...same applies to installing the latest video and sound drivers.
