I have an AVI file that is too big to fit on to a blank DVD.
I want to keep it as an archive, because it is the most raw "source" of the video I have. I don't want to convert it to DVD, mpg, etc.
So I just want to split it in half so can store it on to two DVDs, as data files.
It seems like Windows Movie Maker does some sort of processing to the file... if I open it into WMM, clip it, and save as AVI, the proportion of filesize to viewing time changes, indicating to me that the file was processed or compressed.
so I want to keep the raw AVI unaffected, other than cutting it half.
Is there a simple/easy/free tool for doing this?
thanks
