Hi there,
I'm trying to get some TV episodes recorded on my Sony RDR-GX3 hardware DVD recorder over to my PC, but when i put the DVD-R's that i have recorded the episodes onto, into my PC, windows sees the discs as blank. I have checked that the discs have recorded and they play back fine in the hardware sony dvd recorder. I presume that it is something to do with the format that the sony is recording the discs to being incompatible with windows. Am i missing something simple, is there software avalible to get round this? or is in a no go with this DVD recorder (it is an early model). I have DVD copy/backup software from intervideo and roxio that works perfectly well on factory burnt films ect. I would appreciate any pointers![]()

Did you bother to finalize the disks on your recorder?

fantastic, thank you oldandintheway!
I had presumed that the disc's got finalized as soon as they were recorded, as they are write once.
I checked and that's not the case. I have now finalized the disc's and can read them no problem.
