Hello everyone,
I am a bit new to DVD recording so please bear with me. This is quite an expensive hobby so I want to make sure I know what I am doing.
I occasionally work as a volunteer covering video for live events. For some of these events, attendees usually like to have a copy of DVD available for purchase soon after. We usually perform live video switching during these events so I am thinking the best thing to do will be to record the footage as-is to a DVD and sell it. The audience does not seem to mind that it does not have the bells-and-whistles of a typical post-production DVD.
What I am looking for ideally will be very media-generic (i.e. different DVD brands), support multiple formats and have multiple connectivity options (analog and digital - RCA, HDMI, Coax) so that I can record from different sources. I would like to also be able to do some rudimentary editing (chapters, menus, still pictures etc.) to give the DVD a somewhat professional look. A multimedia slot or USB interface will also be nice so that I can load some pictures from a camera or PC.
Nice-to-have features include a built-in Hard drive, simple control menus, awesome remote. Price is important (as always) but getting the right feature set is my topmost consideration at this point.
Thanks in advance for your input.
