For some reason the avisynth script no longer goes to the coreavc video renderer, instead it goes to "AVI Decompressor" (according to Graphedt.)

It shows both audio (ffdshow) and video (coreavc) with mts files

I installed Windows XP and I can no longer get this program to work. It will create the yuv file and the output_fast.ac3 file but will not create the output_fast.m2v file.

    Do you have avisynth installed?

I would use the other method for MTS file conversion:

    https://forum.videohelp.com/topic346331.html

Then feed the output AVS file to FAVC and you're done. It'll be a lot faster than that slowwwww conversion to YUV in the old version.

I uninstalled Avisynth and reinstalled it and now both enc2mpeg2_AVCHD_v1 and avchd_convert_v5 work. I couldn't get either program to work after upgrading to XP from W2K.

Thanks for asking about Avisynth or I might not have thought to reinstall it.

A guy in the Virtualdub forum was wanting to know how to convert m2ts files to something he could edit and I knew that your program could do it but couldn't recommend either program til I could confirm that they would convert the files.

Is there a working link to the enc2mpeg2_AVCHD_v1 download? I had to use a file that I had stored on a back up drive.

If you have a Sony PS3, it is ideal for playing AVCHD files. I tried it and it works perfectly. No issue whatsoever.

  8. I use Premiere Pro and Sony Vegas but when trying to monitor the files through VLC, it plays .mts files just fine but will not display the running timecode; it stays stuck at 00:00. Is there any fix for this? Sometimes I provide the files for my clients to review, along with the VLC Media Player installation file so they can review them and note down changes by timecode, but if .mts files won't even play with timecodes in VLC, VLC is useless. Help!

What do you think about it?
    I use a Phenom 965 (4x3400 MHz).

But I need help, because I don't know which camcorder I should buy:
    - Sony CX550VEB (AVCHD) (about 1200 €)
    - Sony AX2000E (AVCHD) (about 4000 €)
    - Canon XH A1s (HDV) (about 3270 €)

AVCHD: high quality , but not very useful to cut/play properly
HDV: miniDV (tapes, which need capturing and the possibility to capture in DV (Standard Definition) for DVD

    I need HELP
    I live in Bavaria (Germany)

It would be nice to hear from you

IF I may piggy back on this thread... I have a related problem:
I have MTS videos that I was editing in Windows Live Movie Maker. For some reason, I can no longer view them in the program or in windows media player. But I do have audio! It sounded like a codec issue so I reinstalled ffdshow x64 but that changed nothing. I can view the MTS video clips in VLC but not the editing software that WAS able to see them recently. Another odd fact is that I have 2 sets of these videos that were shot w/the same camera on the following day. I can view the 2nd set with the ms viewer but not wlmm. The only difference between the 2 set of files (that I can tell), is that one set is 1440x1080 and the other is larger.

Got it!!! After blowing this entire weekend trying to figure this out, I tried one last thing after my post. I installed the beta drivers for my Nvidia card b/c I was already on the latest drivers. It did the trick! Hope this helps someone.

  14. I've read all the entries on the thread since it began in 2007. It's now 12/2011. Is there a program where I can watch .mts files native with out converting for free? Or what other options are there to watch those avchd videos. I just want to watch and download the videos. I have a Canon HF100 and find it tedious and silly that I can't watch the videos recorded on the card without jumping through hoops.

Explain your computer hardware in more detail. You will need a powerful CPU or display card hardware assist.

Intel dual core isn't fully able.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 320M? Should support PureVideoHD.

Does MPCHC show it is working in DXVA mode?
