Is there a car stereo that you can plug an ipod into and it will play the songs from the ipod?

I was thinking of this product here but i want to be sure i am getting the right thing here.

It says it connects wirelessly to the car stereo but would the car stereo need to have the capabilities of connecting wirelessly to something?

    This is the lnik:

A FM transmitter like that is probably the easy way to go, with no wiring. And if it's powered from the car, no batteries. I would get one with a digitally controlled transmitter, that way it is unlikely to drift off and require you to retune your radio all the time. Works even better with a digitally tuned receiver.

Also check what frequencies it uses. Some units are limited and you may already have strong local FM transmitters on the same frequencies. Makes for some interference. They have more of a problem in a big city with a lot of FM stations.

Alternately, some car stereos have a input for external audio, though that is somewhat rare. There are also audio cassette tape adapters if you have that system.

Transmitting the sound from your ipod is a waist of time, Firstly because for a "good" stereo sound you will need to pay $70 +.
The product you have in mind looks large and out of personal experience you will be fed up pulling that thing out everytime you
    park your car.
If you got a JB near you and you have a Pioneer Kenwood Sony or Alpine, for $60 you can get the data cable so your stereo in your car can control the ipod..
Perfect sound quality, nothing to pull in and out. The cable utilizes the Stacker Bus Port..

I just bought an entire new sound system for my car. The receiver is a Pioneer deh-6900ub. It's absoultley incredible, but perhaps a bit more than you want to spend.

    The British equivilent is deh-6900ib.

I put a new JVC CD head in my Jeep a few month back that has an eighth inch stereo jack on the front for just that purpose. My daughter plugs her MP3 player in there all the time.
