I have a Sony MVCD 500 that captures video at 640 x 480 or email size 160pixels. I didn't realize I can't resize a video in the camera as I can still images. So how can I reduce the view/file size so I can send it in a email? I't been a LONG time since I've worked w/ video capture/edit, thanks, Cyn

It's apparently MPEG format, so you need to get it in the computer first. Then you should be able to resize/re-encode it to a different resolution/format as needed. Easy may be a program like SUPER, or for better quality, a standalone MPEG encoder.

For guides, look to the left for 'CONVERT' and you should find quite a few options. For the net or E-mail, MPEG-1, WMV are both popular for compact filesizes.

    And welcome to our forums.

super is very good at down sizing resolution for making the video smaller

but i would look into turning it into an avi with Xvid codec at the same 640*480 res and post to a share site then email the the download link/url instead of emailing the video or convert to DVD/VCD and snail mail to them

what ever it is they will appreciate seeing something full size instead of 160*120

Thanks for the welcome and the info, yes for the larger/longer videos I will post on my server but I didn't want to do that w/ short greeting type, like Happy Birthday, etc. Thanks again, Cyn
