    Philips dvd5960/37 need Manual
    I just bought this on ebay Does anyone have a manual i can t download it from philips website for some reason. the ie explorer just quits. I got the firmware update.
    so I need a manual please,
    how to install firmware upgrade,
    how to use the usb??
    what universal remote is good for it
    right now i got a usb cable connected from the player to my modem
    do i need a usb cable from the back of my pc to the player?
    help I could use thanks

    can I files from my fat hardrive with a usb cord?

    thanks for the Phunkyfish link its great answered alot of question

    both of you thanks for the help, got the manual, and firmware upgrade is on

    Now what i need to know is how to get it to read my hard drive using usb

    its a 140 gig westerndigital fat 32
    and

    how to connect the usb cable???
    do i plug the player in and the other end in my pc usb slot?

    what hard drives are supported, anyone know

    I might be wrong but I think the hard drive has to be in an external enclosure. Read the topic I linked to, there's LOADS of info' regarding hard drive compatibility.

    your right from what i have been reading, the external harddirve needs to plug in and then it can be used along with an assorted of thumbs and flashdrives. But what a player eh. Just doing data cds that takes seconds then to watch a movie right away no burning for 2 hours. This is awesome

  8. The drive has to be formatted with the FAT file system (FAT16 or FAT32), NTFS won't work. Many drives that get their power from the USB cable won't work because the 5960 doesn't supply enough power. In those cases you'll need an external power supply.
