    Hey guys,

This is probably hysteric enducing for some of you, but i'm encoding videos to bung on my PS3, but it's taking for ever...about 3 hrs per vid. Given that i'm not a patient man, i was wondering if i could buy anything to speed along the process.

I saw a little usb plug in thingy (video-2-go or something), but that only does iPod size on it's own software. Is there anything available for a home user, that's not insanely expesive that i can bung into my PC to take over encoding from the CPU and speed things up a bit.

I'm encoding stuff at 720p AVC on PS3 Video 9.

    Cheers guys

    Lee

720p avc encoding is slow...best would be to get a faster cpu.

  5. If PS3 Video 9 is well multithreaded a quad (or even dual) core CPU would be a lot faster than your XP3200+.

    Elgato's Turbo.264 does up to 800x600 , 125 bucks , usb stick , mac only for now..

or you could use a Sony AVCHD camcorder for hd ..

or you could get a Sonic HD-Series AVC hardware Encoder

or an ATEME MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 Encoder PC Suite

Tandburg also has a system as do just a few others ..

expect to pay up to around 40 grand
