I must say I am very disapointed with my unit. I had ejection problems before and followed the instructions given (reseting), but now it just won't eject. The first time this problem occured, I only had it for about a month. I currently have a rented dvd stuck in it. For such an expensive equipment, it has been nothing but problems. Does anyone else have suggestions?

The disc may be bad. I have to open up my RCA from time to time, take out a bad disc.

Switch off and pull power cord. Press and hold DVD Eject button on unit and apply power simultaeneously. May take 20-30 seconds.

  5. I also have a JVC MH30. The disc door was not opening as you describe - with a disc stuck in it. Turned machine off and repowered holding eject button and it worked (found this out by trial and error). Have had to do this many times since over last month or so - until disaster struck. Turned it on and it would not come out of the loading phase however long I leave it?

Unable to use it at all at present. Anyone overcome this fault?

You have a corrupted hard drive. Very common on these machines. The firmware is held on the HDD, so if this gets out of kilter, the machine will fail to get past the `loading` phase.
The only remedy, is a reformat of the HDD, for which you will need specialist JVC software.

It happens on quite a few DVD recorders, it's not just JVC. Panasonic is the worst offender in this area, but there are quite a few brands like this.

You won`t get an argument off me on that score. Although JVC have had design flaws (PSU on the M10/MV1 and the slighlty flakey HDD firmware on the MH20/30/50/200) they still produce the best picture quality of the lot. Further, the OP`s problem can be easily sorted, unlike most other manufacturers HDD faults.
We`ll have to wait and see if the takeover of JVC wil bring new models to market.
