This is my first time converting a DVD to XviD, and I'm having some problems.
First I tried celtic_druid's FairUse Wizard. I used the auto-set feature to crop, and the cropping is fine and video quality excellent, but the image is slightly stretched, width-wise, despite using the top recommended resolution. No idea why.
So I decided to try AutoGK. Despite taking longer than FairUse Wizard and the video quality not being quite as good as the FairUse encode, the aspect ratio was fine, unlike with FairUse. However, I have a new problem: The auto-cropping chopped about 20 pixels off each side (left and right) of the video.
If anyone could give me some advice, I'd appreciate it. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or if I should try some different software, or if this is a sign telling me to stick to DVD to DVD-R ripping...
