  1. Hi all-

I'm going on vacation next week and am taking my laptop along. I want to copy some of my DVDs to my laptop HD. I have the Divx software but it seems that I don't know how to connect all the VOB files of the DVD movie into a single segment which I can then convert to Dixv. I'm not makin' much sense here but I think you hopefully get the right idea.

    Thanks,
    Mark

A lot easier way would be to use a program like AutoGK or even simpler, but payware, FairUse Wizard. They can take a decrypted DVD and convert to a Xvid or Divx in more or less one click. A 700MB Xvid from a DVD conversion looks fairly good on a laptop and doesn't use much space.

Or if you just want to extract one large MPEG of the whole movie from the DVD, try VOB2MPEG. Then you can re-encode the MPEG to Xvid or Divx or other formats with just about any encoder and codec.
