I am trying to re-encode a 1920x1080 WMV file. Unfortunately, Windows Media Encoder gets an error partway through: "Invalid or corrupt data was encountered". Of course the file has no trouble playing. What other options do I have for re-encoding an HD WMV file? I looked through the Tools section but it's hard to tell what programs will work for this.

TMPGEnc XPress opens file of that image size and type (and any format readable through Direct Show). Supports encoding to wmv if WMP9 or higher installed.

I looked at WMNICENC, but it's of no use to non-techies. Once I set this up, I need the art department to re-encode videos without my involvement. TMPGEnc Express is AWESOME. That's the way we're going to go.

    Thanks.
