After capturing and burning I've noticed that the edges of an object in a movie I created are kind of drifting. It does not matter is it a car or a person, if it moves in a screen it's edges are like a varying, vibrating line (like on the osciloscope). I can not explain it better than this, english is my second language.

When I watch the tape directly from camcorder on a tv it is ok, but if I am capturing on the computer I can see the problem. I tried severaal programs, two different computers, several tapes and no help. Only thing I did not change were camcorder (Panasonic pv-gs150) and fire-wire cable.

    Any thoughts about this?

    Thank you.

In is called interlacing, it is normal, and you won't see it when you author back to DVD and watch it on your TV.

You see it on your PC because it has a progressive display and makes not attempt to filer for interlacing. Your TV will either be interlaced, or Progressive with hardware filtering. Either way, the best advice is to leave it be. Don't try to remove it, just author as is.

Probably I was not specific enough.

I would see those problems after I burn a dvd too. I would play a dvd in a dvd player connected to tv and it would be able hard to watch. Only when I hook up the camcorder to tv directly the picture is ok.

It could be that your field order has been reversed when you were encoding. DV-AVI is bottom field first. If this gets reversed you will get strange effects.

Can you post a short clip ?

I am not sure that you will be able to see it in this resolution, but here it is.

In this case it is most obvious on the shoulders of approaching man.
